The Australian Antidumping Commission has released its preliminary findings in the administrative review of antidumping (AD) duties on rebar imports from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam for the period July 1, 2023–June 30, 2024.

The Commission determined that rebar exported from Malaysia (except by Southern Steel), Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam (except by Hoa Phat) was dumped at injurious prices, causing material injury to the domestic industry.

Key preliminary dumping margins include:

  • Malaysia: 9.2% for Alliance Steel, Amsteel Mills, Ann Joo Steel, Malaysia Steel Works; 26.2% for all others.

  • Thailand: 3.1% for Tata Steel Manufacturing (Thailand); 6.7% for others.

  • Turkey: 7.7% for Çolakoğlu Metalurji, 8.6% for Kroman Celik, 9.1% for Kaptan Demir Celik, and 36.4% for others.

  • Vietnam: 9.5% for Tung Ho Steel Vietnam, VAS Group, and Vina Kyoei Steel; 17.3% for others.

Products under investigation fall under HS codes 7214.20.00, 7228.30.10, 7228.30.90, and 7228.60.10.
Final determinations are expected later this year following industry consultations.
