The Australian Antidumping Commission has initiated an anticircumvention inquiry into imports of hollow structural sections (HSS) from China, South Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan.

The inquiry follows a petition filed by local producer Orrcon Manufacturing Pty Ltd, alleging that exporters modified products to evade antidumping duties. The investigation is expected to conclude with a recommendation report by December 23, 2025, with a final ruling due by February 6, 2026.

Current antidumping duty rates on HSS imports are:

  • 23.5% for Taiwan

  • 20.8% for Malaysia

  • 13.8% for South Korea

  • 3.3–26.3% for China

The probe will determine whether further duties are required to close circumvention loopholes. Products under review are classified under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7308.90.00.52, 7308.90.00.56, and 7308.90.00.65.
