Mining giant BHP will invest AUD 1.4 billion (USD 924M) to modernize Port Hedland infrastructure in Western Australia.
The project will add a sixth car dumper (CD6), new conveyors, and upgrade equipment availability from 60% to over 90%.
Construction begins December 2025, with CD6 operations starting by 2028.
The investment supports BHP’s annual iron ore target of 305 Mt, reinforcing Port Hedland’s role as a critical export hub.
