South Korean steelmaker Hyundai Steel has won a KRW 611.5 billion ($416.8 million) contract to supply foundation structures for the Shinan offshore wind power project, according to local media reports.

Under the agreement with shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean, Hyundai Steel will provide monopiles and transition pieces for wind turbine foundations. Hanwha Ocean is acting as the project’s engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.

The contract runs through January 2029 and supports a wind farm with a planned capacity of 390 MW, reinforcing Hyundai Steel’s role in South Korea’s expanding offshore wind sector amid the country’s renewable energy transition.
