India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has initiated an antidumping investigation into cold rolled stainless steel flat products (300 and 400 series) from China, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
The investigation follows a complaint by the Indian Stainless Steel Development Association (ISSDA), which claims that dumped imports are harming domestic producers.
The DGTR stated it found prima facie evidence of dumping and injury. The probe will determine the existence, degree, and impact of dumping.
If confirmed, the DGTR will recommend antidumping duties, and the Ministry of Finance will decide on the final measures.
India had previously imposed five-year duties on cold rolled non-oriented electrical steel from China, underscoring its more assertive trade stance in the steel sector.
