South Korea Imposes Provisional Antidumping Duties on HRC from China and Japan

South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has announced the decision to impose provisional antidumping duties on hot-rolled coil (HRC) from China and Japan, following recommendations from the country’s Trade Commission.

The provisional antidumping duty rates are set at 31.58%, 32.75%, and 33.57% for Japanese companies, and at 28.16%, 29.89%, and 33.10% for Chinese companies.

The investigation was launched in March 2025 after Hyundai Steel petitioned that imports from China and Japan were being sold at dumped prices, harming the local industry.

The affected products fall under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of Korea (HSK) codes 7208.10.1000, 7208.10.9000, and 7208.25.1000.
