On the morning of June 27, 2024, Hoa Sen Group (Vietnam) and SP Group (Singapore) officially signed a strategic partnership agreement for the sustainable development of clean energy at Hoa Sen Group's steel mills nationwide.
Determining that sustainable development must be associated with environmental protection, and that the transition to clean energy is a crucial part of Hoa Sen Group's long-term sustainable development strategy, while contributing to Vietnam's national goal of achieving net zero emissions (Net Zero) by 2050. Accordingly, SP Group will be the consulting unit for the conversion to clean energy, investing in power grid infrastructure, cooling systems, and energy-saving solutions, along with other projects across Hoa Sen Group's infrastructure and steel mills nationwide.
Previously, Hoa Sen Group installed rooftop solar power systems at several of its steel mills, totaling 13.4 MWp in capacity. The signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between Hoa Sen Group and SP Group marks a significant milestone for Hoa Sen Group, showcasing its corporate responsibility towards the environment. This initiative aims to promote the use of clean energy in production activities, thereby helping Hoa Sen Group reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet mandatory green standards in accordance with global trends, particularly in international markets with stringent product emission requirements such as Europe and and the United States…
In the near future, Hoa Sen Group will continue to research, invest in, and utilize clean energy sources in warehouses, branches, and stores of Hoa Sen Group across the country. Upon implementation, this project will significantly contribute to optimizing the Group's electricity costs and environmental protection.

In addition to utilizing clean energy sources, Hoa Sen Group has invested in research and implemented numerous solutions and new technologies to manage and use energy efficiently and economically. This effort aims to enhance energy quality, reduce production costs, increase product competitiveness, and improve overall production and business efficiency. The Group also takes proactive measures by organizing training and awareness campaigns to promote effective energy management and environmental protection among all employees. Furthermore, the Group has conducted and completed greenhouse gas inventories at its coated steel mills nationwide, fully complying with ISO 14064-1:2018 standards for greenhouse gas inventory verification at the enterprise level. Additionally, the Group has completed carbon footprint assessments for nearly 20 product lines of Hoa Sen Steel according to ISO 14067:2018 standards.
