Kametstal Iron and Steel Works, part of Ukraine’s Metinvest Group, has announced that it developed seven of the 11 new metal products launched by Metinvest in 2025, reinforcing its leading role within the group’s metallurgical operations.
The company focused on demand from the Ukrainian and European markets, expanding its continuous casting billet range by four products and its rolled products range by three items.
A key achievement came from Kametstal’s converter shop, which developed four new steel grades: 10U1, 20U, 26G2TR, and S355NL-1N. These grades feature stricter chemical composition requirements, particularly for sulfur and phosphorus content.
The implementation required enhanced control of hot metal desulfurization, optimized scrap charging, improved slag-forming processes, and precise management of secondary metallurgy at the ladle furnace.
