ArcelorMittal Completes $1.13 Billion Renewable Energy Investment in Brazil

ArcelorMittal has announced the completion of $1.13 billion in renewable energy investments in Brazil, marking a major milestone in its energy transition strategy.

The projects—spanning wind and solar energy assets—are expected to generate 1 gigawatt (GW) of power, boosting the company’s self-generated energy capacity by 85% by 2030.

According to CEO Everton Negrosiolo, the investment will:
👉 Support sustainable operations
👉 Enhance competitiveness and efficiency

Key projects include:

  • A 553.5 MW wind complex in Bahia (launched September 2025)
  • A 200 MW solar facility in Bahia (launched March 2026)
  • A 264 MW solar park in Minas Gerais (launched October 2025)

The company is currently the fourth-largest electricity consumer in Brazil, underscoring the strategic importance of energy self-sufficiency.
