DECEMBER SAW A DECREASE IN BRAZILIAN SHIPMENTS OF NIOBIUM FERROALLOYS

According to customs data, Brazil shipped 6,786 mt of niobium ferroalloys in December compared to 8,175 mt in November.
Shipments in December were made to Asia (4,840 mt), Europe (1,431 mt at $26,088/mt), the US (311 mt at $23,764/mt), and Mexico (104 mt at $24,487/mt), all under FOB terms. 1,930 mt of the exports were made to China.

The largest producer in the world, CBMM, exported 5,143 mt at a price of $25,937/mt, followed by CMOC, which exported 1,298 mt at a price of $22,994/mt. Additionally, 355 mt were exported from operations in the state of Amazonas at a price of $17,226/mt.

Brazil sold 82,433 mt of niobium ferroalloys in 2022 as opposed to 91,899 mt in 2021.
