Feralpi Stahl, a German rebar producer and subsidiary of Italy's Feralpi Group, has announced the inauguration of the initial phase of its new scrap processing plant in Riesa, aligning with its commitment to sustainable steel production. The company has invested €20 million in the first phase of this three-phase project, spanning two years.
As per their statement, Feralpi Stahl plans to inject more than €220 million into the Riesa plant in the upcoming years. A significant portion of this investment will be dedicated to decarbonization efforts, including the construction of an emission-free rolling mill, slated for completion in 2024.
