A packing system and cutoff from Fives have been ordered by the steel manufacturer Nucor Corp. for their tubular products factory in Marseilles, Illinois.

A new Taylor-Wilson packaging method will be offered by Fives, covering runout through bundle distribution. It can package tubes with walls up to 5/8 in thick and a length of 18 to 80 ft. and up to 12-3/4 in. mother tubes.

The business will also improve the mill's transition beam system to suit the steelmaker's current market demand of 0.630 in. for Nucor's Abbey mill, which was first constructed for structural purposes. HSS tubing can be as thick as possible.
