According to the finance ministry, Japan would place anti-dumping taxes on imports of hot-dipped galvanized steel wire from China and South Korea for a five-year term.

The tariffs, to be imposed between December 8 and December 7, 2027, according to a statement from the ministry, come after examinations since June 2021 that revealed the imports caused "substantial harm" to domestic industry.

The antidumping duty rates for China vary from 26.5 to 41.7 percent, while those for South Korea are 9.8 to 24.5 percent.

The HS codes for the items subject to antidumping duties are 7217.20 and 7229.90.
