Global stainless crude steel production totaled 16.07 million metric tons in the third quarter of 2025, down 1.8% quarter on quarter but up 2.3% year on year, according to preliminary data from the World Stainless Steel Association (worldstainless).
For the January–September 2025 period, global output reached 48.02 million mt, increasing 3% year on year.
Q3 regional performance vs. Q3 2024:

United States: +11.6%, reaching 538,000 mt

Others: –20.1%
Year-to-date, China remains the largest contributor, with production rising 4.7% to 30.45 million mt.
Despite regional volatility, global stainless output continues on a steady upward trajectory in 2025.
