INIDA STEEL BUSINESS MAKES SIGNIFICANT PROFIT IN APR-JUNE 2022

For the quarter that concluded on June 30, 2022, Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) announced a multifold increase in consolidated net profit to INR 2,770.88 crore (USD 347 mn).

According to JSPL in a BSE report, the company's overall profit for the April through June 2021–22 period was INR 14.25 crore.

Its overall revenue increased during the reviewed quarter from INR 10,643.17 crore to INR 13,069.17 crore (USD 1.63 bln).

The amount spent was significantly greater, coming in at INR 10,566.64 crore (USD 1.3 bln) as opposed to INR 7,233.55 crore in the same time last year.

The company said in a separate statement that its steel production stayed nearly flat at 1.99 million tons as compared to 2.01 million tons in April–June 2021. In contrast to 1.61 million tons sold a year before, 1.74 million tons of steel were sold.
