InduX, a new electrical steel product from United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel), will start production at the company's Big River Steel facility in the summer of 2023 following the commissioning of a new non-grain oriented (NGO) electrical steel line.

With all the magnetic characteristics required for electric cars (EV), generators, and transformers, InduX electrical steel is a very wide, ultra-thin, and light steel.

The more efficient the engine is in an EV, the more miles it can travel, and the better the magnetic properties.

At Big River Steel in Osceola, Arkansas, the new NGO electrical steel plant will make InduX steel. NGO line building is presently ongoing, and when completely operational, will make up to 200,000 tons of InduX steel per year.

The estimated USD 450 million in total anticipated capital expenses for the NGO line are paid for with money made from Big River Steel.
