Thai steel roofing manufacturers have asked the Commerce Ministry to help them extend anti-dumping tax waivers or scrap anti-dumping restrictions on imported steel used in metal sheet manufacturing.
According to Phunthanavud Thinkhumbeang, president of the Thai Steel Roofing Product Association, the Russia-Ukraine conflict has resulted in a significant increase in imported steel prices, putting a strain on Thai businesses who are now facing import tariffs of more than 40% as a result of the anti-dumping duty measure.
Thai steel roofing manufacturers will write an open letter to the Commerce Minister, requesting that the ministry reassess its anti-dumping policies on steel.
