State-owned steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has awarded MECON Limited a consultancy services contract to support a major expansion project at one of its integrated steel plants.
Under the agreement, MECON will provide engineering consultancy and project management services, helping SAIL prepare and execute the expansion while improving production efficiency and operational capabilities.
The project forms part of SAIL's long-term strategy to increase crude steel production capacity and modernize its manufacturing facilities to meet rising domestic steel demand. Through the expansion, the company aims to strengthen its competitiveness while supporting India's infrastructure and industrial development.
MECON, one of India's leading engineering and consulting firms for the steel sector, has been involved in several large-scale steel plant projects across the country. The latest contract further strengthens the long-standing partnership between the two companies in developing India's steel industry.
