South Korea Launches Antidumping Investigation on Hot Rolled Products from Japan and China

South Korea has officially launched an antidumping investigation into imports of certain hot-rolled products made from carbon steel and alloy steel, sourced from Japan and China. This investigation comes after a request from Hyundai Steel Co., Ltd., a major South Korean steelmaker. The investigation period will cover imports between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.

The companies being investigated include several well-known steel producers from both countries. From Japan, the companies under scrutiny are JFE Shoji Corporation, Nippon Steel Trading Corporation, Sumitomo Corporation Global Metals Co., Ltd., Dongkuk Corporation, Seah Japan Co., Ltd., and Young Steel Co., Ltd.. From China, the companies involved are Benxi Iron and Steel Group International Economic and Trading Co., Ltd., Dalian Woo Ho Hongkong International Trading Ltd., Howa Trading Co., Ltd., Sharpmax International Hongkong Co., Ltd., and Sino Commodities International Pte., Ltd..

The products in question are classified under various Harmonized Tariff Schedule of Korea (HSK) codes, including, but not limited to, HSK 7208 and HSK 7211, which cover a broad range of hot-rolled products.
