Turkey's metal products manufacturing sector recorded a sharp increase in export prices during May 2026, according to the latest data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

The foreign producer price index (YD-PPI) for metal products manufacturing increased 49.9% year on year and 2.3% compared to April 2026, reflecting continued upward pricing momentum in export markets.

On a monthly basis, the overall foreign producer price index for Turkish industry rose 2.6%, while the annual increase reached 22.4%.

Within the manufacturing sector, metal products remained among the strongest-performing categories, supported by stable export demand and higher production costs. The increase in export prices highlights the sector's ability to pass through cost pressures while maintaining competitiveness in international markets.

The latest figures suggest that Turkish metal producers continue to benefit from export-oriented growth, despite ongoing challenges related to global economic conditions and trade uncertainties.
