US CRC exports up 6.2 percent in July

Based on export data provided by the US Department of Commerce, in July 2023, the United States witnessed a notable increase in its exports of cold rolled sheet, reaching a total of 71,674 metric tons. This marked a 6.2 percent surge from the previous month and a substantial 70.9 percent jump compared to July 2022. In terms of value, the exports of cold rolled sheet amounted to $89.6 million in July, up from $83.1 million in the preceding month and significantly higher than the $56.8 million recorded in July of the previous year.

Mexico emerged as the leading destination for US cold rolled sheet exports in July, receiving a shipment of 55,471 metric tons, which represented an increase from 49,895 metric tons in June and a substantial rise from 28,109 metric tons in July 2022. Canada also featured prominently as a key market, with imports totaling 15,323 metric tons. In July, there were no other notable destinations receiving 1,000 metric tons or more of US cold rolled sheet exports.
