The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has released the preliminary results of its administrative review of the countervailing duty (CVD) order on steel rebar imports from Turkey, covering the period January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023.
The DOC preliminarily determined that countervailable subsidies were provided to Colakoglu Metalurji A.S., assigning the company a net countervailable subsidy rate of 1.84% for the review period.
At the same time, the DOC announced that it is rescinding the administrative review for Kaptan Demir Celik Endustrisi ve Ticaret A.S. and Kaptan Metal Dis Ticaret ve Nakliyat A.S., after domestic producers in the US withdrew their review requests in a timely manner.
According to the DOC, the final results of the review are expected to be issued within 120 days from the publication date of the preliminary determination.
The outcome of the final review will determine whether the current CVD rate applied to Colakoglu will be adjusted, potentially affecting future US imports of Turkish-origin steel rebar.
