Shipments from US steel mills increased in June 2026, reflecting stronger deliveries across the domestic market after a slower performance in the previous month.
According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), US steel mills shipped 7.63 million net tons in June, up 4.8% from 7.28 million net tons in May. Compared with June 2025, shipments also increased 2.4%, indicating continued improvement in domestic steel demand.
During the first six months of 2026, total steel mill shipments reached 44.64 million net tons, an increase of 3.6% from 43.08 million net tons recorded in the same period of 2025.
The latest figures suggest that US steel shipments continue to recover, supported by stable demand from manufacturing, construction and energy-related industries despite ongoing market uncertainties.
