Vietnam's steel imports up 13.7 percent in July from June

In July, the data released by Vietnam's General Department of Customs reveals that the country's steel imports witnessed a significant rise, reaching 1,089,429 metric tons, marking a 13.7 percent increase compared to June. Concurrently, scrap imports also experienced growth, with a 4.6 percent month-on-month increase to reach 216,867 metric tons.

Analyzing the cumulative data for the first seven months of the year, a different trend emerges. Vietnam's steel imports for this period show a decline of 10.3 percent year-on-year, totaling 6.64 million metric tons. Correspondingly, scrap imports during the same period amounted to 2.56 million metric tons, reflecting a decrease of 7.0 percent compared to the previous year.
