Vietnam’s steel imports up 20.6 percent in May from April

In May this year, Vietnam’s steel imports amounted to 1,547,270 mt, up 20.6 percent compared to April, while its scrap imports went down by 27.4 percent month on month to 295,749 mt, according to the data published by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

In the first five months of the year, Vietnam’s steel imports increased by 50.1 percent year on year to 6.92 million mt, while its scrap import shipments amounted to 1.98 million mt in the given period, down by 7.2 percent year on year.
