British Steel has announced that it has secured a £35 million rail supply contract for Turkey’s expanding high-speed railway system, strengthening its role as a major supplier to the country’s national rail modernization program.
The UK-based steelmaker has already delivered £30 million worth of rail products to Turkey’s high-speed corridors in previous phases. This latest contract follows a similarly sized award in 2023 for the Mersin–Adana–Osmaniye–Gaziantep high-speed line in southern Turkey.
In a parallel development, the UK government revealed a new cooperation agreement with Vietnam aimed at digitally transforming the country’s rail infrastructure. The partnership focuses on technical support for Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction, enabling the deployment of high-tech, sustainable rail systems.
These developments underscore the UK’s strengthening footprint in global rail infrastructure, both through industrial exports and strategic international collaboration.
