According to media reports, Duferco Travi e Profilati, a beam producer based in Italy and a subsidiary of Luxembourg-based Duferco, is scheduled to commence production in mid-June this year at its newly constructed beam rolling mill, located at the San Zeno Naviglio plant in Brescia, Italy.
The rolling mill's reheating furnace, designed to be hydrogen-ready, was officially commissioned on May 29. This innovative feature allows for flexibility in fuel usage and paves the way for the potential future adoption of hydrogen as an energy source.
The implementation of this new mill marks a significant milestone for the company. It is anticipated that the enhanced production capabilities will enable Duferco Travi e Profilati to achieve an annual output of 1.5 million metric tons of long products. This projection aligns with the previous report by SteelOrbis, highlighting the substantial growth potential that the new facility brings to the company's operations.
