US exports of hot rolled coil (HRC fell by 21.8% month on month in December 2025, totaling 36,183 metric tons, according to data released by the US Department of Commerce.
The December volume was also 41.3% lower year on year compared with December 2024. In value terms, HRC exports amounted to $38.9 million, down from $50.9 million in November and $57.9 million a year earlier.
Mexico remained the dominant destination, accounting for 26,135 mt of US HRC shipments in December, down from 31,877 mt in November and 40,571 mt in December 2024. Canada followed with 9,889 mt, while no other export destinations exceeded 1,000 mt during the month.
