US raw steel production totaled 1.854 million net tons in the week ending June 13, 2026, down 1.2% from 1.877 million net tons recorded in the previous week.
The capacity utilization rate also declined from 81.3% to 80.3% during the same period. Despite the weekly decrease, production remained 3.5% higher year on year, compared to 1.792 million net tons produced in the corresponding week of 2025.
Looking at the broader picture, adjusted US raw steel production reached 42.54 million net tons in the year-to-date period through June 13, representing a 6.3% increase from 40.04 million net tons recorded during the same period last year.
The data indicates that while production softened slightly on a weekly basis, the US steel industry continues to maintain stronger output levels compared to 2025.
