The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has launched an antidumping (AD) investigation into imports of welded and seamless oil country tubular goods (OCTG) casing from Austria, following a complaint by Tenaris Canada.

The investigation will assess whether the Austrian-origin products are being sold in Canada at dumped prices and whether such imports are causing injury to the domestic industry. The CBSA is expected to issue a preliminary determination within 90 days, at which point provisional antidumping duties may be imposed if dumping is confirmed.

The products subject to the investigation include OCTG casing classified under a wide range of HS tariff codes within headings 7304 and 7306, covering both welded and seamless steel pipes used in oil and gas applications.

The launch of the investigation marks the first step in Canada’s trade defense process, with final determinations to follow after further examination of pricing, costs, and market impact.
