With the redesign of its Blast Furnace No. 3 dedusting system, NLMK Lipetsk now achieves a 99.9% dust collection rate. All of NLMK's blast furnaces are now outfitted with cutting-edge dedusting systems that are on par with the finest available worldwide technology as a consequence of the company's ongoing environmental enhancements.
A filtration machine, exhaust fans, a network of gas ducts, and specialized collection hoods placed over sources of smelting waste make up the new dedusting system. High-performance bag filters are used in the system to guarantee a 95 percent decrease in residual dust in off-gases compared to the level before the upgrade.
The entire collected dust is utilized as iron ore feed in blast furnaces.
Total project investment was RUB 320 million (USD 5.2 mln).
