Germany’s GMH Gruppe has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art rolling mill at its Georgsmarienhütte site, marking a significant milestone in the company’s strategy to expand its precision and specialty steel production.
The facility features two high-performance three-roll blocks (KOCKS RSB 445+), which can operate independently or in tandem, offering enhanced flexibility and shorter delivery times. This dual-block configuration improves the mill’s capability to handle diverse steel grades and customer requirements.
One of the most notable innovations is the mill’s ability to produce bars across a broad diameter range of 20–130 mm, with provisions in place to extend production up to 142 mm in the future. The upgraded capacity strengthens GMH Gruppe’s supply position in high-value sectors including automotive, e-mobility, energy, construction, and mechanical engineering.
The company stated that the new rolling mill represents a major step in supporting European industry with high-performance, precision-engineered steel products.
