The whole share capital of Barclay & Mathieson Ltd. has been purchased by Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc. (B&M Group).
The B&M Steel, B&M Architectural, Steel Plate and Sections (SPS), Industrial Metal Services (IMS), Avon Steel, and Abram Pulman Steel subsidiaries are all part of the Barclay & Mathieson Group.
One of the biggest steel suppliers in the world is Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc. (MISI), which is situated in Tokyo, Japan, employs over 10,000 people and has operations in 90 countries.
The B&M group's acquisition by MISI will enhance its current portfolio of companies and help it expand its footprint in the UK and European markets. With big investments planned after the acquisition, there will be a great chance to grow and expand internationally.
The Glasgow-based Barclay & Mathieson Ltd., one of the UK's leading steel stockholders, was formed in 1877.
