Turkey's passenger car and light commercial vehicle market continued to weaken in the first seven months of 2026, with total domestic sales falling 10.7% year on year to 638,965 units, according to data released by the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD).

Passenger car sales declined 12.1% to 502,712 units, while light commercial vehicle sales decreased 5.1% to 136,253 units during the January-July period.

In July alone, total vehicle sales dropped 25.0% year on year to 80,786 units. Passenger car sales fell 25.8% to 62,478 units, while light commercial vehicle sales decreased 22.2% to 18,308 units.

Despite the overall market slowdown, hybrid and electric vehicles continued to account for a growing share of passenger car sales, reflecting the ongoing transition toward lower-emission vehicles in Turkey.
