At the end of October 2022, Nava will stop producing high carbon ferro chrome for Tata Steel Mining (TSML).

The manufacture of high carbon ferro chrome for TSML has run into technical problems for the firm, which has affected plant productivity metrics. In November 2022, the business will perform planned maintenance on the smelters at Odisha and begin producing manganese alloys in the Odisha Works.

In addition to Telangana, the corporation has prepared for this increased production in Odisha, with a combined annual capacity of 180,000 tons of manganese alloys. The changeover would give the business superior scale efficiencies and a bigger market share in the manganese alloys industry.

The arrangement for Tata Steel Mining's high-carbon ferro chrome production covered the period up to March 2025.

Established in 1972 as an Indian maker of ferro alloys, Nava is today an international business with operations in South East Asia, Africa, and India. It is a diverse company with operations in the production of metals, power, mining, agribusiness, and healthcare.
