The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced an extension to its preliminary antidumping investigation into imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) from Mexico, the Philippines, Turkey, South Korea, and the United States.

Originally scheduled for completion within 90 days of initiation (by August 11, 2025), the preliminary phase has been extended to 135 days due to complexities in data collection and analysis.

As a result, the preliminary determination or possible termination of the probe will now be issued on or before December 22, 2025.

The investigation focuses on whether the five countries’ OCTG exports have been sold below fair market value, potentially harming Canadian producers in the energy and drilling sector.
