State-owned miner MOIL Limited has announced price cuts across all grades of manganese ore for May 2025 deliveries, company sources confirmed on Thursday, May 8.
According to the sources, the price of high-grade manganese ore (Mn content above 44%) has been reduced by 5%, while ore with Mn content below 44% saw a 10% price cut.
In a more significant adjustment, the price of silico-manganese grade (SMGR) ore — including Mn 30% and Mn 25% varieties — has been slashed by 15%.
The move reflects shifting market conditions and is expected to impact pricing dynamics in the downstream alloy and steel sectors in the short term.
