Global crude steel production declined in November 2025, reflecting uneven regional performance, according to data released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
Worldwide output totaled 140.1 million mt, down 4.6% year on year. For the January–November period, global crude steel production fell 2% year on year to 1.66 billion mt.
In Asia and Oceania, output reached 99.9 million mt, down 7.1%. China’s production dropped 10.9% to 69.9 million mt, while Japan produced 6.8 million mt (-1.6%). In contrast, India increased output by 10.8% to 13.7 million mt, while South Korea’s production fell 4.8% to 5.0 million mt.
The EU-27 produced 10.2 million mt (-3.5%), with Germany at 2.8 million mt (-2.6%). Turkey stood out with 3.3 million mt, marking a 10% year-on-year increase.
In the CIS, production declined 3.9% to 6.3 million mt, including Russia’s output at 5.2 million mt (-6.6%).
North America produced 9.0 million mt (+5.4%), with US output rising 8.5% to 6.8 million mt.
South America recorded 3.5 million mt (+2.4%), led by Brazil at 2.8 million mt (+0.7%).
Meanwhile, Africa produced 2.0 million mt (+7.4%), and the Middle East reached 5.5 million mt (+8.2%).
