Based on the export data provided by the US Department of Commerce, US tin plate exports in May 2023 amounted to 8,372 metric tons, showing a 3.1 percent increase from April but a 0.3 percent decrease from May 2022. In terms of value, the total exports were valued at $8.3 million in May, down from $8.4 million in the previous month and significantly lower than the $14.4 million recorded in the same month last year.
Among the destinations for US tin plate exports in May, Canada received the largest share with 2,849 metric tons, surpassing the quantities sent in both April (2,249 mt) and May 2022 (2,317 mt). Other notable destinations included Mexico, receiving 2,249 metric tons, and Pakistan, receiving 1,022 metric tons.
