China's wholesale sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) are estimated to reach 1.47 million units in July 2026, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). The figure represents a 23% increase year on year and marks the strongest annual growth rate recorded so far this year.

Compared with 1.48 million units in June, July sales remained broadly stable, indicating continued resilience in China's NEV market despite seasonal fluctuations. From January to July, cumulative NEV wholesale sales are estimated at 8.26 million units, up 39% compared to the same period in 2025.

The sustained growth has been driven by robust domestic demand, expanding model offerings, and strong export performance from Chinese automakers. The NEV segment continues to play a key role in supporting China's automotive industry and related supply chains, including demand for automotive steel and battery materials.
