Euro Area Industrial Production Holds Steady in June as EU Output Rises 0.2%

Industrial production in the euro area remained unchanged month on month in June 2026, while output across the EU increased by 0.2%. In May, industrial production had risen by 0.3% in both regions.

On a year-on-year basis, June industrial production increased by 0.1% in the euro area and 0.6% in the EU. Among major industrial categories, euro area intermediate goods output declined 0.8% month on month, while capital goods production fell 1.4%. In contrast, energy production increased 1.5%, and non-durable consumer goods output rose 3.0%.

At the country level, Denmark recorded the strongest monthly increase at 5.4%, followed by Croatia at 5.2%. Lithuania and Finland both posted gains of 2.1%. Luxembourg registered the steepest decline at 10.7%, followed by Portugal at 3.9% and Estonia at 2.2%.

Compared with June 2025, Lithuania led annual growth with a 7.7% increase, followed by Denmark at 6.1% and Poland at 4.9%. Luxembourg posted the largest year-on-year decline at 7.9%.
