The UK Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) has launched an expiry review of existing antidumping duties on wire rod imports from China, following a request from domestic producer 7 Steel (UK) Limited.

The review covers the investigation period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025, and will assess whether removing the duties would result in the continuation of dumping and renewed injury to the UK steel industry.

To evaluate economic injury, the TRA will also examine market conditions over the period October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2025. The current antidumping duty rates range from 7.9% to 24%, depending on the exporter.

The products under review fall under multiple UK customs tariff codes, including 7213 and 7227 series classifications, covering various categories of carbon and alloy steel wire rod.

The outcome of the review will determine whether the existing trade protection measures remain in place beyond their scheduled expiry.
