In 2024, Metinvest’s humanitarian hub at Zaporizhstal played a crucial role in supporting Ukrainians affected by the ongoing war, assembling approximately 144,000 food and hygiene kits for those in need. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, the hub has successfully prepared and distributed a total of 1.1 million kits to communities across Ukraine. These efforts are part of the Saving Lives program, a collaborative initiative between the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and Metinvest.
The aid, which reaches residents of regions such as Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Dnipro, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and others, is tailored to provide essential support for those living in challenging conditions, including internally displaced persons and residents of frontline areas.
Natalia Gaidukova, coordinator of the Humanitarian Hub, shared, “Our center at Zaporizhstal is dedicated to helping those who are facing extreme hardship due to the war. We aim to ensure that people have access to vital supplies. Looking ahead to 2025, we plan to prepare at least 100,000 more humanitarian kits to further assist those in need.”
The humanitarian packages, thoughtfully assembled by Zaporizhstal volunteers, include long-term food supplies, baby formula, medicines, hygiene products, and other household essentials. Over 500 volunteers have contributed to this initiative, with more than 3,000 vehicles deployed for deliveries.
